Posting here will probably be sparse for a few days. Central Kentucky was hit with a major ice storm Saturday night and Sunday. Trees and power lines down everywhere. A lot of the area is powerless and probably will be for a week or more. Last major ice storm in 1994 left my house dark and cold for 5 days and this one is much worse.

And I just had to add this. In one of those bizarre timing quirks that make life amusing, as I contemplate all the minor complications brought about by the wonders of winter, someone emailed me a version of this old philosophy lesson. It seems especially appropriate now, especially as I consider that having no power is no hindrance keeping beer cold as my whole house is now a walk-in refrigerator.
